Interested in being a part of our event?

Bringing about a 16th century village in beautiful South Lake Tahoe takes a lot of effort, and we are looking for people who can help us before and during the event.

We are looking for enthusiastic people of all ages to help create the magic that is the Folsom Renaissance Faire!

Interested in learning about a faire from the inside? We have volunteer opportunities available all throughout the year. During the spring and summer, we work on building new sets and props as well as repairing the old ones. Although most of this is done at weekend workdays, some projects can be done on an individual basis at home. Toward fall, the pace increases as we prepare for the faire itself. Our production schedule runs from the Wednesday before faire to the Monday after.

We need people to work on a wide variety of projects in the months leading up to faire:

  • Carpentry (building and repairing props)
  • Sewing (banners, decorations)
  • Painting (backdrops, decorations, signs)

Those with special skills in any of these areas will find something sophisticated enough to be challenging, but the only talent that is really necessary is a willingness to jump right in and work hard.

During faire, there are many jobs to be filled:

  • Setup and teardown
  • Parking
  • Ticket-taking
  • Go-fers and runners

As part of a non-profit corporation, high school students can fulfill community service hours by volunteering for the Faire.

New! Internship Program

For the first time, we are offering an internship to high school seniors or college students who would like to learn about event production from an organization with a proven record of success. A minimum commitment of 100 hours, most of which will be served in September and October, is required. Working as assistants to the faire director, interns will get hands-on experience in all aspects of production.
